Mot de La Présidente

Chers membres et amis de AF Grosse Pointe,
March is Francophonie month, and our chapter kicked off the season with Carmen in late February. Over twenty members and friends met up at the DSO and enjoyed a Sunday afternoon together.
Our annual feather bowling outing was great fun this past Monday, and we benefited from special tips and lessons of two league champions. Feather bowling is an old Belgian traditional game brought to the US by immigrants in the early 1900s.
We will continue our Francophonie journey with virtual experiences. Don’t miss the Filles du Roi presentation we helped secure for the whole federation, coming up March 12 (details below). Some of you will remember the reenactment four of our members put together a few years ago, when they portrayed different experiences of the Daughters of the King.
If you are like me, you are probably looking forward to warmer weather and outdoor activities. Look for the signs and you will find them. Spring will be here soon!
I leave you with an excerpt of an Alfred Musset poem for inspiration:
MARS
Ah! Que Mars est un joli mois!
C’est le mois des surprises,
Du mation au soir dans les bois
Tout change avec les brises
Le ruisseau n’est plus engourdi;
La terre n’est plus dure
le vent qui souffle du midi
Prépare la verdure.
Joyeux printemps,
Amal Elhosni
