Chers membres de AF Grosse Pointe,

As autumn deepens and the holidays draw near, I am delighted to share the many exciting happenings within our vibrant community. November brings an abundance of opportunities to engage, from lively conversation groups and cultural soirées to unique events that celebrate French art, cinema, and gastronomy. Whether you are polishing your French or simply seeking good company and good cheer, there is something for everyone in the weeks ahead.

Last month, several members of our Michigan AF community proudly represented us at the annual convention for the National Federation des Alliances Françaises USA in Miami, Florida. The gathering brought together chapters from across the U.S. and beyond for a weekend of learning, inspiration, and connection. I was especially proud to see our very own Vice President Scott Forster and Immediate Past President Amal Elhosni, who serves on the national federation board, representing Grosse Pointe. Our heartfelt thanks as well to the president and staff of AF Detroit, with whom we continue to share wonderful collaboration (you can see our Michigan contingent in the photo below!). Next year’s convention will take place in Chicago, and we’re already looking forward to it!

Thank you, as always, for your enthusiasm and support. Our petite communauté francophone thrives because of your participation, curiosity, and love of French culture. I look forward to seeing you soon at one of our upcoming gatherings.

Sincèrement vôtre,

Thomas Jones II
