Chers membres de AF Grosse Pointe,
Chers membres de AF Grosse Pointe, This will be my last monthly La Trompette message to you. As I look back at my five years as president, six years on the board of directors, I cannot help but feel nostalgic. From the tragic loss of our past president Pat Stewart to the pandemic and its impact, we certainly went through a lot together. But if all these events taught us anything, it is that our AF chapter is resilient and can survive many storms.
And look at us now! We are thriving and looking forward to the future with great optimism. Over 130 people celebrated the Fête de la Bastille with us and enjoyed a memorable evening as we concluded the season for 2024-2025.
Our next season is right around the corner and I look forward to seeing all of you for the Season Opener at the Wilkinson Residence on August 24th. I urge you to renew your membership and sign up for the Opener as soon as possible. We will also be holding our annual meeting at that time and vote for the new board of directors. I want to wish the best of luck to the incoming board as they take on their responsibilities. I am confident we will be in good hands.
As for me, I will continue serving my term on the AF Federation-USA board of directors for the next two years. Being a member of the Federation Membership and Outreach Committee and in charge of 12 chapters across the Midwest, including AF Grosse Pointe, I will work closely with the AFGP board and support them as needed.
