Classes are ongoing: as long as we have enough students in the class we usually keep the same day/time/teacher for the next session of classes and all year. Don’t hesitate to email us afd@afdetroit.org if you have questions.
If you are a complete beginner (you can’t ask/answer questions, you can’t make simple sentences) pick an A1.101.0 class!
If you know some French, took classes years ago and/or forgot… please take a placement test before picking a class. We do have distinct levels inside the beginner levels A1 and A2. We also have 2 new classes about French for work/business, one for complete beginners (A1.101.0) and one for intermediate level (A2+). Those classes are geared towards learning French for a professional setting and are faster than the other regular group classes we offer.
We offer a 5% discount for multiple classes registration for the same student (call or email us!)

*Class Prices are based on 3 students minimum. Please note that there is an additional one time $25 fee for first time registration and, membership to either Alliance Française de Detroit OR Alliance Française de Grosse Pointe is a requirement.
Members of Alliance Française de Grosse Pointe will receive yearly a special code from their chapter in order to register without paying an extra membership.
Books are not included in the tuition cost. Once registered please email us at afd@afdetroit.org to let us know if you want your books mailed or want to pick them up ($6.50 shipping fee)
*We usually offer an early bird discount when registering early. For this session, we will apply the early bird rate during the all registration period: $305 and $205, instead of $320 and $220 for classes – Next session, starting in January, will be at the regular price with an early bird period.
